Site A is a site about European cars. It has an Alexa rank in the 32,000 range. The stats show it gets 1700 unique visitors per day.
Site B is a site about stock car racing. It has an Alexa rank in the 30,000 range. The stats show it gets 31,000 unique visitors per day.
Conclusion 1 is that there is a huge difference in the 2,000 Aleax ranking points, with sites only 2,000 points apart being that different in their traffic.
Conclusion 2 is that European car surfers are much more likely to have the Alexa toolbar installed than stock car racing surfers.
Are these conclusions viable. What has your experience been with Alexa?
alexa is just a marketing scam. Their rankings are meaningless.
Gee, don't hold back, tell us what you really think!
Funny, I don't see any other services out there even trying to give us insights into how web sites (competitors) are doing. It's just a guess based on input provided by a toolbar, take the results with a grain of salt, but it's the only game in town.
