I am installing a Sony LCD with a Dvi_D, to a
Radeon 9000 AGP 4x Card. Running under Windows XP.
Will this work or do I have to get an adapter or new
card. I will be running dual monitors.
Thanks....

If the monitor has a DVI connector and your graphics card has either a DVI-I or DVI-D connector, you should be set. The major difference between DVI-I or DVI-D connectors comes into play on your graphics card. A DVI-D connector on your graphics card will only support a digital connection via a DVI cable, while a DVI-I connector on your graphics card can support both a digital connection to a monitor via a DVI cable *or* an analog connection to a monitor through the use of a DVI to 15-pin VGA adapter.

So, as far as I know, there is no such thing as a DVI-D monitor, it should be just "DVI". The distinction between DVI-I and DVI-D happens at the graphics card level. Hope this helps!

If you google that error message, you'll see various threads about the problem - concensus seems to be a driver problem - get the latest driver for that card from the manufacturer's site.

Tried everything and more, nothing helped. Every update was successful and ran to eoj. I was wondering
could it be i need more video memory or is 64 ok for 2
monitors. If do i need new software to run dvd's, whats a good choice. Thanks again.

Plays...hooray.
I have not researched it yet, but i have the following problems:
Next playlist jumps to beginning of cd/dvd
Starting is more manual, meaning i have to enter
info type of run drive assignment etc.
I can live with that.
thanks again...........
