ok...here's my delima. If I do a search for my website in google I get one search result. It doesn't even go to the index page of my site. If I do a search for the same url in Yahoo or Altavista I get 79 search results. Can someone tell me why this is? I have only had that site listed for a couple of months. Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to resubmit to Google or will it automatically recrawl once it is listed?

Any help would be great.

Thank you,

Sherif

Oops...forgot one other thing. I have a links page and most of my results are from my links on other peoples pages. Why are those links not showing up on Google? Shouldn't backlinks show up on google?

Thanks again.

If you are new and don't know about this stuff why on your website do you make yourself sound like an expert. You can't get your page in the listing, but your website says you have already built a successful base of business online. All you have done is created a site with a ton of affiliate ads. I think your site is incredibly spamy. On your site you make it seem like you are an expert, but it seems you are just a beginner. Before you offer services, you should learn how to do it first.

Have you tried the "site:yourdomain.net" query? It shows 26 pages indexed. Have you tried "link¦www.yoursite.net"? It shows 40 backlinks - however of dubious quality (imho). Some food for thought and experiment, don't you think? A spellchecker - at least for the texts on your site - would also be a good investment, trafficboy. If you want to offer professional services, act professional!

First, Don't use your URL in mesages.

Second, Backlinks don't show up on Google right. Yahoo is much better for that sort of thing.

Hey! Go easy on the kid, save that sort of bashing for trafficman.

Sorry, I just hate when people pretned to be experts. When they really know nothing about it. I made 500,000 my first month so I want to share the info with you. I hate those people.

You are correct. I am not an expert. I did do very well in internet marketing but not with search engine placement. I was just posting information that I have read. I now realize that it was not correct to have it set up like that. This is not the field I was an expert in. I will revamp my site and I apologize. I will fix everything and then come back to the discussion.

Thank you for your help.

Wow! Congratulations on your reaction! I had second thoughts about my harsh post, and after reading it again, I was convinced you would never be seen here again. I am surprised in a positive way by your attitude and hope to read again from you.

WebmasterWorld can be overwhelming sometimes. But it's a goldmine! But like in real goldmines, to dig it up, clean it, and make it into money is hard work.

Have a look at the library [webmasterworld.com]. It's a wealth of information.

I too have to commend you since I was just "slightly harsh". You do have the right idea pointing people to info sites and making money from sales. Thats what affiliates are about, but I just didn't like how you made yourself out to be an "Expert". I will give you credit for sticking around though. WebmasterWorld is a gold mine of information without it I would have quit 3 months ago when everyone told me you can't make money online.

You know it's funny what happens when people give you a wake up call. I actually designed that site a few months back to promote these make money online programs. I haven't even looked at the site in a long time. I have a learned a lot about SEO and the website marketing since I built that site. I was just there for the sake of practice. I realize how stupid I look now and I apologize. I hope I haved pissed off anyone enough to not want to talk to me anyomore I will be removing that site and building a new site that is what I am about.

Thanks for the wake up call.

Ok...I'm really tired and I NEED spellcheck today. I have a freakin college education and my grammar sucks today. Maybe that's why you're supposed to preview your message before you submit it. Could I have any more mistakes on my last message LOL Grrrrrr....I'm done for the day I'm going to get a good night's sleep and start over tomorrow.

Take care everyone

Thanks,

Sherif
