Hi all,

This is something that has been bothering me for ages and I have a meeting tomorrow where I would like to give some suggestions.....please help!

Our website has been going for many years and is doing ok (just ok though!). We now want to change it and one of the changes that has to be made - as far as I'm concerned - is the dynamic menus. Currently we have js menus (the code of which I got somewhere on the net) which when you mouseover it, it opens sub-menus and when you mouseover them, more submenus etc etc etc. Now this works absolutely great and is very user-friendly and easy to maintain, but as far as I know, this is not the "best" way of doing things when it comes to SEO. Am I right? The js scripts are saved in a sub directory, not root and is thus theoretically not part of the code, but I am still worried.

My problem is how to get rid of these js menus without having to compromise on user-friendliness, flexibility and scalability. Any ideas please!?!? Or any website examples where I can see what they have done.

Hope someone can help.

Cheers,

There are CSS ways of doing this as well, but the same SEO issues apply. If it's not in the base code, it can't be read by spiders, and therefore not good for SEO. A site map might be good.

You might check out Brothercake or SuckerFish [htmldog.com] for compatible menus.
