I'm constantly amazed at the degree of (false) confidence people place in free web services.

I'm also amazed at the total lack of responsibilty free online services show to the customers who's confidence they've worked so hard to win.

The least they could do is give people download access to their files and associated data. Or, for goodness' sake, let their customers know what's going on.

Foolhardy people need their data restored or recreated.;)
