I have A forum, and I would like to place pics in my postings, but don't know how.

Also would like to add rolling banners to the top of the site site. Again Don't know how.

I would love as much help as I could get.

I tried to post the link, but as you see it has been edited. ( Not by me )

The link to my webpage I am talking about is in My profile. So you'll have to go to my profile to get the link. Sorry I did try to make it easier.

Rolling banners? Do you mean text or graphics?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld Internet_Mall ;-)

I tried to post the link, but as you see it has been edited. ( Not by me )

If you look at the TOS link in your post you'll see why. We don't allow personal site links to be dropped in these forums.

Can you explain a little more about what you need help with? I'm a little unclear as to exactly what it is you want to achieve, and where you're having problems in achieving it.

Hello Internet_Mall and welcome to Webmaster World!

There used to be a welcome message in one of the forums to help new members understand the way things are done here, but is seems to have disappeared :( Although I understand there is a welcome email for new members covering most things.

As you have noticed URL postings are generally frowned upon for various reasons, there may be more info in the 'Terms of service' link at the bottom of the page.

You will find that many members are more than happy to help you solve your problems, as opposed to simply solving the problem for you. This is based on the 'Teach a man to fish' principle....

Other useful tips are:
Try to solve your problem and then ask focused questions regarding elements that are not working for you.
Such as:
"I followed the instructions in the manual for loading images into my online forum (mention forum script used) but got the following result (mention errors encounted). Would someone point me in the right direction?" You may get a more focused response.

Most of us here have been through many learning curves (and many of us are still going through them ;))in the past and understand when things just 'don't make sense', so we are more than happy to lend a helping hand to fellow members.

It is also worth pointing out that the thread subject and description are very useful, as are your choice of forum. The subject 'Hi' followed by 'I need help', we could all use for every post, but that would cause a little confusion ;), so it is advisable to go into a little detail there.... What about, in your case, 'Using images in phpBB forum', as a subject and 'newbee needs help' as a description. Then post your question in the relevant forum.
For instance, I would suggest you look through the 'Site Graphics and Multimedia Design' forum or perhaps check out the 'PHP Server Side Scripting' (if that is the script used on your site) in the Forum Index.

The people here are very helpful and I can guarantee you will learn bucketfulls of stuff to improve your webmastering skills.
So, stick around and get your learning cap on and have fun!
:)
Added: trillianjedi got there first, must take typing lessons.
Also added: Hmmm, the subject has changed, I must be getting old (or was it too much good stuff last night).

Allowing pictures to be posted in your forums will depend on the forum software you're using. You may find the capabilities are already built in.

For the banner rotating, you'll need to find a banner rotating script. Most of these will also have ways of tracking the impressions and clicks a banner gets. Check [hotscripts.com...] for what you're after.
