Should I be concerned?

I'm looking through the Acceptable use policy for my isp, and I came across this.

(xiv) run programs, equipment, or servers from the Premises that provide network content or any other services to anyone outside of your Premises LAN (Local Area Network), also commonly referred to as public services or servers. Examples of prohibited services and servers include, but are not limited to, e-mail, Web hosting, file sharing, and proxy services and servers;

Does this mean I should stop running apache? (i've had it running for over a year and have not had any problems, then again I mostly use it for development and I do not get very many hits) Sugestions?

It seems to me that you are in violation of the TOS. I run apache locally also, but it is not accessable from outside the LAN.

Ignoring the TOS problem, you should consider moving the apache server inside a firewall for security reasons. Unless you are experienced and diligent, you may be opening yourself up to hackers.

I called the tech dude in the office a few miles down the road and asked. He said that Apache for development was no problem. They just don't want commercial bandwidth usage going for $35 a month. He was even nice enough to help me get all the IP numbers sorted out. That's small town service though.:)
