Hi there, I'm fairly new to all of this and have my 1st web-site up and running. <snip>
I've recently changed it from a frames based web site to a basic html site.
I still have to finish off the Bio page, but am not sure what the best thing to do would be.
I'm thinking either add a background image or break the text up with relevant images?
Also the gallery is a bit of a mess at the moment.
I want to redesign that or at least add navigation to the top of all the index thumbs pages.

On the mixes page I would like to be able to stream mp3's & maybe video's. How would I do that?

Do you think the site would benefit from a flash intro?

Overall please can you give me any hints or tips to improve this site.

Also why aren't I getting good results in google? What’s wrong with my meta-data?

Hi Funk_Doc and welcome to WebmasterWorld.

We don't do site reviews or allow URL drops I'm afraid, so you may want to re-word your post to something more descriptive. We don't actually need to see your site to give you input.

Do you think the site would benefit from a flash intro?

This is a matter of what kind of "shop-front" you want to offer users. At the moment though, you need to weigh up whether or not you can afford to do it. From an SEO perspective, HTML text content is king for on page factors. I would forget about using Flash for now and concentrate on getting your pages indexed and ranking in the search engines, and your brand established. Brand buys you creative flexibility, and less reliance on SE's. But you have to establish yourself first.

Also why aren't I getting good results in google? What’s wrong with my meta-data?

It won't be a meta data problem. I suggest you take a read of this:-

.... which will give you all the pointers you really need to get started in building decent pages which at least have the capability to rank.

Then have a good read through the Google News forum and library. You especially want to concentrate on off-page factors - anchor-text inbound links are critical to marketing in google. Read up about them.

If your site is brand new, you might be waiting a while to see results though. Patience is everything in this game.
