Does anyone know where on the web I can find a good, mono-format dictionary that can be browsed? Something that might look like this:

Alligator-A large animal with big teeth
Elephant-Ditto

Yes, but I'm not allowed to provide a URL <G>

Try searching Google for "probert encyclopaedia" it is not strictly a dictionary, but you don't appear interested in the words' etymology anyway?

I'm looking for something that a Perl script can read, and store each word in a file. I just need a list of pretty much every 1,2,3,4,5,6,7, and 8 letter words.
