Hey all,

Starting a basic site for a charity, been using freeservers for other sites but would like to use one of the better, ad free sites this time around.

I know it's really complicated and costly transfering domains, which is why I'd like to find a host where I can pay for a org.uk domain and then get good, newbie friendly ad free hosting. I can deal with html, but FTP I have no idea about!

Would really appreciate help and solutions!

Many thanks,

Natalie

Don't worry. FTP is trivial to learn. Just get an FTP program, type in the FTP address, the username and the password and you've got easy access to your stuff. Should be pretty self-explanatory from there.

Also, it's not really difficult or costly to do what you want.

Normally for such things I recommend GoDaddy for registration. They are very cheap and have made their services appeal to the masses so as to get a huge client base. But because they are cheap, they may not be as strong on customer service. I'm just speculating since I've only needed to talk to a human being there once.
