I have been asked to create a Casino website. We have created many kinds of website but never a Casino! Here are my initial questions if anyone has experience of this kind of thing:

- What kind of hosting/security does a Casino site require?

- Do you have to create the games-applications or are there providers I can buy the games from?

- Is it better to use a 3rd party online casino provider? ie my domain and site with their games/money facilities. Who are recommended?

- Are there Payment poviders that service Casino sites (like WorldPay service ecommerce sites)?

- This is in the UK: Does my client require a special licence? Do I?

It depends how much they are paying you?

Is this a company with a background in casino gaming or is it an individual that just wants to jump on the bandwagon without realising the amount of work involved. Designing a casino from scratch will cost a fortune so if this individual/company wants to continue then you should look at 3rd parties who deal with this.

I would estiimate their budget at less than £10,000, and they have not done this before.

Well if it's less than 10k then you should tell them to forget about it. I have experience with this from the poker world. It's just not feasible to produce a casino site with this sort of money. I <snip> know of one website (can't post it here) and as far as their poker room is concerned, it is a pile of crap. The software is rubbish and always crashes. <snip> I think they only manage to keep people on the site by offering £1k freerolls and such like.

Sorry to appear negative but I hope I save you some time.

[edit reason] Removing specifics - let's keep Brett's lawyer out of business ;-) [/edit]

Can anyone recommend 'Casino Providers'?
ie Their Games and payment facilities on my site, so they host their facilities and we pay them - if you see what I mean.
