Hey all,

I now have an account at godaddy.com but can't log in to my ftp. I'm using the right username and password but am still given a login incorrect answer. Have also tried many different ways of entering each bit of information for example:

ftp.mydomain.com
ftp://domain.com
ftp://username@YourDomainName/

etc, but none work.
Anyone using who has a godaddy.com account able to tell me how the information should be entered into smartFTP or internet explorer please?

Hello Encore,

What happens when you leave out ftp and just have domain.com in place?

Sorry what I meant was to leave the ftp out of the domain field *you* still require your u/name and p/word are you behind a firewall by any chance?

The ftp works fine with hosting accoutns from other hosts so having a firewall is not the problem. Got an email from godaddy.com telling me to wait 48 hours for the changes to take place ( moved my domain to godaddy.com from another godaddy.com account yesterday ), we'll have to see.

If you have a godaddy.com hosting account .. could you:

Post how you format the information in your ftp?

eg. username.domain.com

Would help me to at least know I'm entering the data right.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply, looks like it was an incorrect password which I finally got a reply on how to reset ... though perhaps it was a coincidence that the ftp suddenly worked after changing pass .. either way, all is well so thank you.

I had this problem with GD hosting. My problem was with cute. Gotta login "normal" not "anonymous".
