Since starting the the world of web development about 2 years ago I've gone from using free web hosts, to having mates host me, then purchasing from a reseller package and now I want to finally go out and purchase my own hosting package. It needs to be UK and I'm looking for these kind of specs:

50gb bandwidth
1gb webspace
Cpanel etc ...

Currently paying £15 per month for 30gb and 1gb webspace which I find decent but the support isn't good enough and there downtime is becoming more of a problem. Am hoping for a package costing £10, maybe £15 tops ...

Any recommendations?

Greetings,

We are not allowed to recommend web hosts:

Public discussion and recommendation of hosting companies is no longer allowed at WebmasterWorld. We are closing the floodgates to get a better handle on the spam that always crops up in hosting discussions. The current threads will remain available to be read but there will be no new discussion permitted.

I can understand not being able to post links to personal sites, but isn't this going a bit far? :(
With such little freedom, takes a lot away from this place. :(

Oh well, thanks for letting me know ...

With such little freedom, takes a lot away from this place.

You're missing the larger point. You want to know which host to go with, and you've asked the question here because this is a community of helpful, knowledgeable people who come together each day and offer advice with no tangible benefit to themselves other than participation in the forum. But if discussions such as this one were allowed, you'd find the quality of this forum drop precipitously. You wouldn't be able to tell which posts, in this or any other thread, were trustworthy advice or self-aggrandized advertising.

The TOS of this forum are strict, yes. They allow no wiggle room when it comes to posting urls or promoting specific companies, but these rules, and the adherence to them, are the very things which keep WebmasterWorld as the sort of place you'd like to come for advice.

So the price you have to pay for great technical advice in an open and friendly format, is that you don't get to post urls or ask people for specific hosting recommendations.

It's a fair tradeoff, trust me.
