What to do with random traffic?

I posted a funny movie about a video game last month on my personal site.

It was so funny it went through 19 gigs of transfer in 2 days EVEN after I deleted the movie itself. I actually had to tell the hosting company to delete to domain.

Now it has been 30 days later (I have put the site back up without the video) and I have still getting hundreds of hits a day.

What should I do with these hits? Should I just send these random people to my main site? Isn't that a bit mean?

They're probably not really random hits, but people looking for something funny. So give them something funny, or send them somewhere funny. You can separate this traffic from your usual homepage traffic by examining the referrer strings. Then you can serve up different content according to where your visitors have come from, and what search terms they are using.
