I am starting a Speakers (presenters) Website that will need a searchable database system where the Speaker enters what they do, an image a description and possibly more fields. Then a person looking for a speaker will enter their criteria for possible matches. It sounds very much like a dating website system and I think that could work. I can't pay for any programs right now. If you know of any good free dating programs out there let me know. I would really like to find one that has a group of people working on mods for it but I don't think a dating system would be a big Open Source projct.

If you rely 100% on search, then your inline search engine needs to be pretty good, and most of the free CMS's, while they implement search in some manner, are not very good at it.
Having a directory structure by topic at least would allow your users to "drill down" by topic and sub-topic to find their requirements.

What springs to mind to me for your requirement is a directory module coupled to a "gallery" module.
But I think whatever you do, you will have to get your feet wet with some coding. No CMS will suit your needs perfectly without modification.
If you really want to use something designed for dating, a search will reveal a couple of free options, but you'll have to dig deep into the results due to the inevitable sites a search containing the word dating will produce.
It wouldn't be my choice however.
