Disjointed Rollover Using Text Blocks

How can I implement a disjointed rollover that swaps text.

I'm trying to determine a way to do a disjointed rollover that rotates out a block of text instead of a swap image. What I envision is an area of a page that has 4 images, and when the mouse rolls over each image, another area of the page updates with a text description. I want to use text (preferrably from a seperate text file) that can be easily editted instead of a graphic text block. I'm running into dead ends via searches and my usual tutorial spots. Any ideas?
