Background:

I have a large information site (500+ Articles) about widgets. Furthermore, I have the largest online with thousands of companies that sell these widgets.

One of the features of this directory script (from comdevweb) is that every link has a special "Information Page" containing:

Link
URL
Description
Category
Date Added
Hits
Rating
Votes
Reviews

Question:

When I am writing an article in which I want to link to these companies, should I link directly to the company's site OR should I link to the company's "information page" in my directory script, allowing me to squeeze some revenue via impression ads and adsense before the visitor exits my site and allow me to track the popularity of each company.

Good idea? Bad? Moronic? Just Plain Mean?

I don't think it would be too bad a thing to send them via your company info page, if there's a bit more detailed stuff about the company - address, telephone, etc - then that's fair enough IMO...
