Does anyone know about cash registers around here?

I need to get one for an ice cream shop. They want it to be able to

-print reciepts
-make report logs
-log all activity on the register (especially deletions)
-cash drawer
-networkable

Please PM the site since you can't post the site here.

thanks

Check out your favorite personal computer manufacturer. Search for solutions such as "Retail Industry Solutions" or "point-of-sale" (POS) systems.

Also do a Google search for 'refurbished cash registers' They often carry full factory warranties for less than half the price.

Before I started making a living on the Internet, I worked at a state-of-the-art gas station. The cash register was a small PC running windows NT, a touch screen monitor, an IBM receipt printer, and an IBM cash drawer. The software was a cool visual basic application. The system worked like a gem. If you know VB or another good application language, have a good PC, a touch screen, an IBM receipt printer, and an IBM cash drawer, you can make a killer register. The software would be the hardest part. Good lo' VB .net uses crystal reports which kicks ass. The IBM components plug right into the back of the PC. It was also networked to the corporate office so the prices and updates could be done from anywhere.
