Anyhow, I thought I knew this. But when a SE reads a page, what's the pattern.
I thought it was Top to bottom, one table at a time. And with-in a table, one column at a time, top to bottom, then moves to the right and does the next column top to bottom, etc. Then moves down to the next table, if any.
What makes me wonder is this
Many, if not most of the search results for my site seem to include the Page title OR text from the first table PLUS text from the last table. That means they are skipping the text in the content tables on some pages, but not all.
I'm so confused.
sounds like your talking about what the serps say on you kw searches, yes it does read from top to bottom as the code displays itself.
However, i don't think anybody actually knows, how the search engines produce the serps, as this is the best kept secret of the SE's, i know if i new the rules of each and every search engine (algos), i would make a site for each.
It's not completely unfathomnable, hence thats what every body does here, amongst other things, hence watching the search engines, collating data, flagging changes, learning new tricks.
Stick around this is definetly the place to get as close to the algo's as one can get. The mods of each of the search engines know them very well, and their is literally hundreds of others that have tried and tested means with the search engines. So it's not a lost cause, just come here reguarly, drill into the search facilities with your queries, then if know luck, ask, you'll always get an answer, if not a few dozen, which becomes fun ! lol
hopelessness is at the bottom of the class, where as one thing you note around here is the bar is always open !
