Nedd a custom alternative to Google and Atomz

Like many, I switched from Google's custom site search to Atomz when they began putting the ads on the results page. Now Atomz has also begun inserting 'Sponsored links' at the top of their results.

I've already had my visitors complaining, (very tacky links have no place on our Christian site) and have removed the atomz custom site search.

Has anybody found a good free alternative to Google and Atomz.

A customizable perl script perhaps? Preferably not php.
Something that indexes our 1200 page site weekly, and serves visitors relevant sorted results under our template.

Suggestions?

Ta!

Greetings,

There are quite a few good resources already around:

Thanks for the link but all those are either withs ads or you have to pay to remove the ads.

I'm looking for a free script I install and use myself on our site, and want to know WebmasterWorld visitors experiences with it.

Anyone found a good one yet?

Ta!

I followed the suggestion to use FDSE Site Search, and it's terrific. Thanks!
