Quick Question:

I was wondering if anyone knew of a forum that was SEF (Google and other SEs are able to spider the contents specific posts).

I know you can hack phpbb into submission, but I really am not very experienced in PHP so I wanted to avoid accesses digging into to the code.

I would of assumed that were would be a forum script that was SEF right out-of-box.

Thanks!

If there is not one avalible, a simple no will suffice.

phpBB has been SEF for the past two revisions - at least that's what I see here in such discussions. The default header in 2.0.8 seems to produce the same as I can see on the phpBB site and that's not too bad. With some minimal search and replace (which isn't really hacking), I could remove the annoying "www.domain.com :: View Forum" from the Title, but I haven't bothered.

The latest version of Invision Board is well equipped to handle Google and the other spiders. There's even a page in the admin software that shows you which spiders have crawled recently, and what pages they scooped up. My entire forum is well crawled by Google.

The last word for BestBBS (the forum script that powers WebmasterWorld) was that it would be available before 2005. This is very SEF oriented, therefore I am waiting for its release to insert it into one of my sites.

It's worth the wait :)
