I just wanted to drop in and say Hi. I've been checkin out this site and It makes me realize I dont know as much as i thought i did. I got a domain and I just got my hosting today. They dont have it setup yet. The site im gonna make is gonna be just a forum site. I have the forums I want to use. They are free php forums. I know a little about html but not really anything about php. I think these forums are setup where I wont have to do anything to them much. I hope i can accomplish this. thanks

Welcome to WW stump1000,

New projects are always fun and exiting. But what is your question though? If you question is directly about forums, then you would be better of in the Forum Community Building [webmasterworld.com] forum of the WW.

Thanks for replying Moltar,

Really, i dont have a question right now. I was just saying hi. Im sure I'll have a question or two sometime. I have one thing I am wondering about though. I already have my domain and its parked right now or whatever you call it. On the domain control panel it has a place to put servers
example
ns1.server.com or whatever. Is that where i'll put my host? I got the domain from mydomain.com and the host from another place. Also, I would like my site to show my domian in the address bar all the time and not that actual host address. Is that possible? Thanks

Yes, you will need to put DNS servers of your host into the domain control panel. Usually hosts send that information in the account confirmation mail. Then it will take up to 72 hours for DNS servers to propogate.

Then I can type my domain in the addy bar and it'll go to my site? I got my nameservers in my email like you said. I already done the swap. So now its just a wait.
