How do other webmasters protect themselves from lawsuits? I run a classified ad site and am concerned a user may hold me responsible for a transaction that has gone wrong.
I have standard disclaimers on my website but I'm not sure if that is enough deterence. Do people incorporate for more protection?

Read the ToS at all the classifieds sites you can find, preferably the definitive ones, and see how they use words to position themselves apart from individual transactions. The text displayed to buyers and sellers, on-page reminders etc are all part of it. Use it as a starting point and then go to your lawyer for confirmation.
