Searching For Broken Links In Searach Engines/ Directories,

My boss asked me to check for broken links. So I ran Xenu and found/fixed the broken links in the site. Now it seems I missunderstood my boss. He wants to know what keyword searchs in what SE give a broken link..... is that possible/?

If so, how would someone check for that? I can't see it being possible.....

He means dead links to URLs on your company's site, right?

One method would be to pull the server log (e.g. for the last onth), grep for 403s and 404s and make a list of the referrer fields of these lines. Then you have a list of the bad links that at least one user has followed in that time period.
