I won't mention the NOC center here but if your site has been down all day like some of mine then you probably already know and be very frustrated if your not effected then double check your host for redundent power supplies.

We have been with a host company that assured us of 24/7 uptime and backups.

After 3 years I've never had a problem with my host who uses this particular NOC but you never know when disaster strikes.

From now on I'll pay more attention to the redundent power supplies.

Nearly 190,000 hostnames effected and offline since 7am EST and most are still down!

Article relating to fire

Local Plaza -

"We're running on generators just to keep things we need [in operation, including] communication [devices], the phone system,"

NOC says their generator arrived today 9/20/2004 (too late!) :(

Anyone else had a bad day?

Just goes to show you must always check every thing before signing up.

Sympathies to all affected.

If you have been hit, don't forget to pause your PPC campaigns, if you use them to send traffic to your sites.

(I forgot once when one of my sites went down ;P )

I got mail from my host this morning (4am local to me), but it's the old servers, not mine. Which is nice for me, but the PITS for those on the "other ones"....

Of course, I do also hope that those affected by the fire onsite are all okay - THINGS can eventually be replaced but a life gone is gone forever....
