Where is it needed?

I haven't stayed in the loop on the Sender Policy Framework, but since it seems to be comming or rammed down our throuts depending on who is talking... I have a question on who needs to configure this.

In my situation, I have domains hosted on my webhosts server. I use me@mydomain.com for the from address, but in actuality, mail is usually sent through webmail which uses the host server SMTP server or through my local ISP's SMTP server. Is either of these going to break because of the SPF requirements? Does my host have to make modifications? I can access a SMTP server using my domain name mail.mydomain.com which I sometimes do on the road, but am not sure what I would need to do to make it work with SPF. I am fairly technical, but not really at a systems admin level or web admin level.

I believe your host will need to take care of this for you unless of course you have access to the zone files for your domain(s).

Each domain will need to have an SPF Record. When running a DNS Report [dnsreport.com], a domain without an SPF record will throw up a warning. Follow the instructions in that warning for generating and implementing the SPF Record. The SPF Wizard will generate one line of text (based on a series of questions) that needs to be inserted into the zone file for the domain.
