Can anyone recommend a host that they are extremely happy with? I design, and host all my client's sites through a reseller account on a unix host that seems plagued with technical problems. For example, every time, and I mean EVERY time I change namerservers on a site to point to the new domain that I have designed and created, there is a problem resulting in delays, down time, and frustration on the part of my clients.

I don't relish the idea of migrating them all, but I think i have no choice. I am not sure if this is the proper spot for this issue, but would appreciate any recommendations for a good reseller host with reliable support.

Thanks

NEVER MIND. I just read the charter. This topic is out of bounds and probably wont make it past the moderators. Thanks anyway

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com], mcjohnson.

You're right about us not being to recommend hosting companies, but you're right also about the need to switch hosts in your particular case. There are a million hosts out there, and you need to be careful when reading testimonials and such, which are often "sponsored" by the hosting companies. Look for quality over price, email the slaes department with a short set of technical questions to ensure they offer exactly what you need (and that they know what they're talking about!), and if you can, don't put all your eggs in one basket.

Once you've found a reliable host, stick with them - when a crunch-time comes, they're more than worth any extra you pay for them.

...often "sponsored" by the hosting companies...

encyclo, your cynacism does you proud. :)

Actually, I'd just like to add, check the length of time they've been operating. If they've been going over a year, then they're that much more unlikely to vanish overnight. Also try to find out if they're resellers or own the hardware themselves.
