Has anyone had any experience with BrainBench? It seems like a good idea and is backed by some high profile companies. I also like the idea of being tested my knowledge and given a detailed report after the test. Worth it?

Depends what you're paying for and what you hope to get out of it. Taking their exams as part of an overall strategy to determine what you know and what you don't certainly can't hurt (especially if you're thinking of doing some recognised certs along the way), but I don't know of any I.T. employer (in any discipline) who would give any credence to a pass mark from a BrainBench quiz. I certainly wouldn't.

I've used them before, but only to take as many *free* practice questions as I could lay my hands on prior to doing my I.T. certs. Admittedly, this was a couple of years ago so things may have changed, but I seriously doubt it.

If they're still free, go for it. It certainly can't hurt. If you have to pay these days then think carefully about what you expect to get for your money.
