I was wondering if anyone experimented with creating a site with no specific "topic", but rather just a gathering place for all the random articles/tutorials you know enough about to write on.
For example:
How to dump a girl
How to fix a flat tire (learned that yesterday)
How to have a party during a hurricane
How to correctly board up windows before a hurricane
How to install windows 95 on a Fujistu lifebook 535
How to purchase a cheap laptop on ebay
etc.. etc...
The articles would most likely be completely random, just stuff you learned as you go through life, either through education or experience.
I am not talking about putting a huge investment of time or money into this, just slap on adsense and pick up the checks.
But if I have am having a friend who is a professional contractor put up my hurricane boards, why couldn't I snap a few phptos, write a few notes, and post a 300 word tutorial on it?

Why couldn't I turn my life experiences (combined with a blog) into a mini ehow to earn a few extra bucks a month.
There's absolutely no reason why you can't do this :) I do a little bit of that in my spare time as well. THe pain is the writting. Not only do you need to write all of this stuff down, but you usually need to edit it afterwards to make sure it makes sense, etc...
If you write well this can all be done much quicker though. Go for it and good luck :)
Now I use it to launch some of my and my friends sites. It doesn't get much traffic, but Google visits pretty regularly and I can write an article on just about any subject (read whatever topic the site that needs a link from is about) and link out to the new site as a "read more about this here" sort of link just to coax Google there a little faster.
The latter site is the only one that's running ads, BTW. (From a quick glance, that's what I gathered anyway).
I'm not affiliated with any of the abovementioned sites, in any way. I'm married to a "Justin" but not that Justin!
Tips and tricks on how to move back to your parents, mooch off the boyfriend/girlfriend, work yourself into a psychosomatic illness...
THE site for people who screw everything up, and want to keep within the law.
Do you think my dream site "ikeepgettingfired-dot-com" might work?
Usually, someone will drop a "Thanks, I just got fired" one liner in anytime someone posts a Not Safe For Work (NSFW) post without that identifier.
See, there's really a site for everything.
