I just had a question about changing picture sizes.. For example, the way I put information into my website is by a back end section that lets me do it very easily.. Now lets say I find a picture on the web that I want to input into my website but the back end section only lets me do it around the size of 100 by 120 pixels.. If the picture is bigger than that, is there a program that can help me shring it to the size I need it to be in order to apply it to my website... I would love a program that I could just type in the numbers it would have to be and the picture changes automatically.. I hope I was clear... Thanks in advance...

Do you mean you want to copy it from somewhere, shrink it then put it into your backend? If so there are a ton of free programs that will do the shrinking (and also make it smaller in size) meaning it will load faster.

You can also specify a percentage size in the html or an absolute size (eg. width="100") but neither of these makes the picutre load faster.

Also, if there's code involved in the serving of the picture (eg. php) you could generate the html for one of the above options based on a number of other conditions - I'm not sure I understand your request fully.

Yup, that is exactly what I want to do.. I want to shrink the picture to be the size that I want it to be.. For example width = "100".... This way when it enters my web site, it is the desired size because the bigger size is to big for the thumbnails that I want it to be as... What are some of these free programs that will let me do this... Thanks for the help...

I use aspimage to resize and edit my images automatically. It is a nice little component that lets you add text, change opacity, resize, contrast and other basic imaging functions. You'll need to have a little bit of ASP knowledge though.

Good luck!

Irfanview--Fantastic little program that's free (well, technically it's postcard-ware).

ok now this is my problem now... i am using this program called media resizer.. its a great easy to use program.. it lets you change the size of the picture and you can make the thumbnail have a cool look to it.... But this is my problem... when I load a picture into this program from the internet that I have saved, the picture does not show up.... It says I can transfer the picture to jpg, gif, bmp etc... but for some reason when I load the picture into the media resizer program, the picture does not show up, there is just a black screen.. I can change the size of the black screen but why would I want to do that.. Where is the picture... Its weird, its like the picture is there but its not there... What can I do about this.. Should I save the pictures from the internet as a different format.. It makes no sense to me why this program wont show the pictures.. Hope someone can help
