Other cases involve the continuing onslaught of traditional spam, which can include pornography, fraudulent diet schemes or bogus body-organ enhancement drugs. Spam also has become a primary delivery system for viruses that can either disable a machine, expose private data or turn a computer into a "zombie" that can be controlled by a hacker to launch more spam.

Methinks it's in our own industry's best interest to stop using the word "spam" to describe high-risk search engine optimization techniques.

Suggesting a new name: SeoPAM.

What do you think of it? (the Name / not the Object)

Anybody got a link to this info on a page with no registration required?
I'm not inclined to fill in a form with my entire life history just to read the W. Post.

bugmenot.com is your friend:-) It'll give you a login username and pw so you can bypass registration.

Install chris pedericks 'user agent switcher' extension onto firefox, add the googlebot string to it, go to site again, no login. That works sometimes on some sites, including this one.

Also a nice way to check out what sites serve google when they use useragent checking to alter page content, like WebmasterWorld does for example.
