Free Canadian News Headlines/ Tickers

I am looking for free automatically updated news headlines and or a news ticker service for my site. The subject must be general Canadian news. Please sticky me the URL if you know of any. Thanks a bunch!

Why they don't just have RSS feeds is beyond me- why force people to register, even if it's free? Their TOS are also terrible... an RSS feed would not be revocable, but this is the internet and their lawyers obviously don't get you can't stop people from linking to you, and their management don't comprehend that they would want more people linking to them. Oh well.

I wonder if it would be OK with google to scrape news.google.ca? Naturally linking to Google news as well :)

I wouldn't try scraping news.google.ca - most definitely against the TOS...

It looks like CBC Headlines has an exclusivity term in it's TOS:

"Exclusivity. The Affiliate guarantees that CBC Free Headlines shall be the exclusive content on its Website from a general news and information provider."

I have other (non-canada) news sources on my site that I wish to keep, to CBC will not work for me.

Is there any other worthwhile service out there?

Example:

"This just in...... I am going home in 10 minutes... film at 11".
