Hiding from domain lookups

A problem - I have a number of domains and websites which I do not want anyone to know I own.

For example at the moment someone could do a lookup on my domain and find out the technical contact, owner etc. Does anyone know how I can hide this from 'nosey parkers?'

BTW it is a .com
I have a .co.uk too if anyone could help on that one, I'm asuming the procedure for 'hiding' the details is different.

Any advice would be great

Cheers

Not sure who you register your domains through, but there is a service called domains by proxy I believe that give what you are looking for.

You can change it to anything you wish.

Some domain registrars offer this I think as an additional service...they will 'privatize' your domain and not list your details.

Yes, 'GoDaddy' is one that has the proxy service - I use it and have also transferred domain management to them - can't speak to highly about their service - they have their act thoroughly sorted out!

for .co.uk just opt out of public whois if you are a private individual rather than a company.
