For example, if you run a site about web hosting, and can provide web hosting referrals, you can make a LOT of money. On the other hand, if your site is about something generic, your traffic is not worth much at all.
You may want to try looking up what people are bidding on keywords for your subject type and see how much it costs to advertise for those keywords. That will give you a good idea what your traffic is worth. From my example, it's not uncommon to pay $10 a click for web hosting, but general sites may barely make 5 cents a click.
