I am looking to buy some good voice recognition software. I am willing to shell out the bucks for a very good program as I do not type too fast and my business is based on typing.

Can anyone give me a recommendation?

Thanks

I would reccomend dragon naturally speaking preferred 7. I have liked it a lot. Do a search on google for it.

There will be a microphone included. However, for better dictation results i bought myself a high quality mic, cost almost as much as the software package itself, but its much more comfortable to wear for long periods and better results.

A few years there were a couple of guys with OOS at the place I was working. One used Dragon Dictate (as it was then) very sucessfully. Another very quickly developed laryngitis which was a form of OOSS of the throat, and had to give up programming.

One other question.
Will the software work on filling out web forms?

do you guys like talk to type things to make articles/content? I'd feel a little awkward "saying" what I am writing....

I've had trouble with RSI and have been using Dragon for a year. If you want any tips or suggested links or anything feel free to PM. As someone mentioned, the mic that comes with it is pretty lame. I got a Plantronics USB mic and have found it far superior.

Will the software work on filling out web forms?

Yes, don't expect to be as speedy as with typing though, especially if you have to go into spell mode to do names and addresses and such.

Heh, I've been using it to write my novel. Fortunately, I don't write many, cough, mushy love scenes... There are just some things you don't want to say to your computer =)

For normal day-to-day stuff, you get used to it pretty quickly.
