Adding a forum to my site

Im not sure if this is the best forum to post in but I am wondering how to go about putting a posting forum on my website.

Is there free options?

What works best for others?

In most of the forums I see, there are about 3-4 major ones.

Try a search on google for "free forums". A lot of useful resources can be found that way. Also, you may want to search freesticky and hotscripts. And yes, there are hundreds a free options. Best of luck with you new forum!

I have just been looking at hosting which includes a forum already installed. You may want to look into something like that.

ive just put up my first forum using one of the popular free options. setting it up was a piece of cake on a really cheap hosting option.

seems to me the hard part is getting some discussion going. its a bit lonely talking to yourself....:(

Building the forum no problem.
Jump starting the converstaion very hard.

I would suggest paying a few people for every post they enter or have you and 3 friends jump start the conversation.

I liked PHPBB.com's board but it is also the only one I've worked with.
