The BVI is currently under seige by somebody using nearly all the bandwidth the BVI internet provider has to offer. For two days, nobody has been able to send e:mail and getting mail has been very difficult. (This page took 5 minutes and 23 seconds to download.)

The boys at C&W BVI have been unsuccessful in finding the culprit. Anyone out there know anything about how to go about finding the source? If so, please sticky mail me. This is not the first time. Its been going on (from time to time) for the past few weeks.

If the ISP also provides web hosting, they should check for people possibly running malicious CGI scripts or cron jobs on their servers, or check for possible worm infections or attacks... the Code Red variants have been known to slow stuff down quite a bit.

My web host was slowed to a crawl once by someone running a CGI on cron (runs automatically at specified times) hogging all the server's processing resources.
