I am looking for a script that allows to post news on a website. I do not need anything fancy. If fact, I prefer something real simple. I just want a plain text based form (no wysiwyg) editor.

I want to post news headline, date, news body. In another section of my site I also link to news articles outside my site with a little snippet, I would like being able to manage that too. Also I want it to archive it after it reaches certain number of news.

And most important is RSS feed.

If anyone knows of such script, please let me know. I've tried searching for 2h on major script archives sites and SEs, with no luck.

Thank you.

Facing something similar right now.

As of now, I use a simple access db for my own news.

Once you have the rss file (i make it by hand using a plain text editor) you may want to look at Feedroll for a syndication solution.

The thing is that it is not for me - it's for my client, and they are not very familiar with html and rss. I do most of the big updates, but I want them to be able to post news themselves. Thanks for the tip though!
