Can anyone suggest a good HTML freeware HTML obfuscator? I have some HTML that needs to be totally undecipherable.

The problem with "totally undecipherable" is that it has to be decrypted at some point for a browser to render it.

There are a number of html encryption programs. Most of them are javascript based and some of them are better than others.

Again, the problem is that, no matter how good the encryption is, it must be decrypted to be rendered by the browser. So if someone really wants to get it, it won't be that hard (just load up a copy of NN 4x and view source).

As far as I'm aware, it can't be done. If it can be read by a browser it can be read. Full stop.

<sigh>

OK.

I want to take my HTML and turn it into a bunch of nasty complicated javascript. Basically, I want to make it very difficult for someone to figure out how I achieve some interesting javascript and DHTML effects.

So yes, you CAN read the page in a browser, and it looks totally normal. But then looking at the HTML source it will just look like a lot of garbage.

Here is an example [mtopsoft.com] of one for sale
I'd like to find a freeware one (my budget is $0).

Any suggestions?

Ok...as long as you understand it will only make it more difficult, but it is certainly not impossible.

This search should help.
