I decided its time for me to get a press release out. But as always I need some feedback.

Who do you use for yours? Also do you write them or hire that out as well? And if so to who?

Most Press Release firms will submit your release to hundreds of newspapers, as well as submit through PRNewswire. Send2Press.com seems to be the most popular cost-based service.

PRWeb distributes releases for free, and seems to be the one that the majority of companies and businesses use for free distribution. PRWeb does not submit to newspapers or to PRNewswire. But, Yahoo will pick up releases from PRWeb and make them searchable through their news search, as well as their RSS feed.

I guess a better way to ask would be what should I look for in a news wire service? Some are cheap some are exspensiv. Whos cutting corners and what to look out for? I set my budget at about $600.00 to have it written and released, I just want to make sure I get the most out of my money.
