Reuters [reuters.co.uk]

Regulators have asked an Internet service provider to make clearer that some of its web search results are paid advertisements, saying pay-for-placement listings from search provider Overture could confuse consumers.

Heheh. The response from the ISP sounds mildly bored:

"We're looking at the ASA report with some interest," and declined further comment.

Oh, ok. They're being confronted by a 90 lb weakling:

The ASA has no powers to compel advertisers to comply with its rulings...

However, the ASA can squeal to the Office of Fair Trading. Is this something that can escalate into an actual crackdown, or is it merely a polite exercise?

What's wrong with SEO? :)

But, yes, Yahoo is skating on thin ice with some of their recent moves.

The ASA may not have any teeth but companies tend to modify their campaigns/ads very promptly following ASA rulings.
