Is your problem a) connecting your server to the Internet , or b) setting up the server software, or c) both? Going on the information in your question the only advice I could give would be to acquire a decent length of Ethernet cable ;-).

OK, question time!

  • Firstly, what OS is the server running? Windows 2000 Server? NT4.0 Server?
  • What sort of site(s) do you want to host? Static, ASP-driven, databases?
  • Would you be prepared to switch to Linux or FreeBSD, or do you absolutely want to keep Windows?
  • Do you have a static IP address?
  • What kind of connection do you have?
  • If you have a residential-type connection, do your terms of service allow you to run a web server?

You may well have everything you need, and if you don't you can download most of it for nothing, but as you can see, it is difficult to advise without some more details.
