That error message isn't saying much, at least not that we could help you with. What's on line 128?
Changing from html to php is not difficult, but you do have to follow the rules for both, that is to say, good html and valid php.
From my own experience at making this sort of change, I'll say there are 3 things I do:
1) Start... <?php
2) echo my html... echo "whatever html";
3) close php...?>
All sorts of little things will creep up in between those. Hope that helps some.
