I need a program to use to send out mass emails as well as easily add/remove mass amounts of email addresses in seperate groups. It needs to be able to handle from 1-5 million email addresses and be able to send a lot of emails at one time while not taking down a shared server...

Also, if anyone knows any good dicussion boards relating to mass emailing please pm a link to me, thanks!

from 1-5 million email addresses

SPAM? Or have over 1 million people given you their permission to send e-mail to them?

I'm guessing if he was a spammer he would have an in house program and such. Just my thoughts. Then again someone with that many addresses should also know of some high end programs. Maybe these are just big expectations?

Anyhow, I used to have a list with 100,000+ and used a lyris I believe it was called. Not sure if it is still used a lot though, it was a couple years ago.

I use Lyris & it's quite powerful, handles bounces, offers URL-based and e-mail unsubscribes, etc. I'm not in the 7-digit list range, though.

It sounds like a tall order - send out a few million e-mails and not hang up a shared server.

Lyris is very expensive, just 20,000 messages / hour will cost me $625 for the license and if I want to send out over a million the price is in the $30,000 range... WOW!

I'm no professional spammer and the emails addresses I have are from past websites I have operated...

Are you sure about those lyrics prices. Try and find a host that will send them for you. I certainly wasn't spending anywhere near that to send out my large list back a few years ago. I doubt the prices increased that much.

Also, are there any good host anyone can recommend that are capable of sending over 300,000 emails / hour?

You don't get the license. Find a company that already has one and charges a fee for using their shared license. I will try and remember which company I used. But I sent over 100,00 like I said and it couldn't have been over a couple hundred or so.
