log file analysis newbie questions

need simple recommendation

OK, I am a total newbie when it comes to log analysis but would like to start with some script or other

main priorities:

- which person/IP uses most resources on a daily basis
- top keywords used to access any of my pages

these two are the biggies really...but I need to be able to look at things on a day to day basis. Want to be able to choose single day from a week ago and look at those stats if possible, not just "this month until today"

other thing is that I am a total "command line" dunce so anything I can either use on my own PC or can be installed using a web interface really easily will be the baby for me.

any ideas?
