How much is your time worth?

Read an interesting article about self-value the other day, and am now left wondering how much people actually think their time is worth.

If you had to give a price for an hour of your life to be dedicated to someone you didn't know - how much would it be?

I work for a smile, for coffee and a cookie, for money of various denominations, and I also decline to be bothered.

Depends on who they are and what they want and when they want it and how they ask :-)

In my self employed role I wont work for less than £15 ($28) an hour plus travel expenses (40p mile).

However I did work for a mate in his removal business for £5 ($9.5) an hour over 7 days and only got paid for five days, It was by agreement.

When I work I dont always look at what I get out in money terms but is it worth while completing a certain task.

PERSONALLY.. I'll work for free to help a friend out. If someone needs brakes or a headgasket, (not even related to SEO that I do for a living haha) and can't afford the labor, I jump right in. May take a little longer, but my buddy is rolling again.

Completely depends on what that person wants me to do and how sympathetic I am to the person's situation. Prices will range from free to "not for any amount of money".

I wouldn't sell even a second of my life for any amount of money. However, since a person need to eat, etc., to some extent it's a buyer's market.

Speaking stricktly in terms of doing freelance work, it depends on the project. I will generally bill out the project based on $85/hr, and will often offer a 1-year contract for support at $65/hr.
