Starting a brand new site...

What ads can I put up?

I am starting a brand new site and I'm looking for some ad networks that will accept me without any traffic whatsoever, so I just don't have blank space. Will Burst or any other networks accept me?

Thanks for the recommendations,
Brandon

Start clean in my opinion. I know it sounds nuts, but I reckon you are more likely to get directory listings if you dont have a a site caked with banners. Just get content on there. Link will follow. Then you can approach the advertisers. You could always stick adsense on there for now.

I don't agree with starting your website without any ads. You should put a bare minimum amount of ads on your site, so you at least get a little extra money. Just be sure not to include pop-ups, pop-unders, slide-ins, or other intrusive ads. If you do include these types of ads, your viewers may become annoyed with them.

Like in the above post, I agree with using Adsense at the starting, because Burstnet, Fastclick and others do not accept sites that have a low traffic rate.

Another way you can earn money is by selling text ads on your website. This can be automated, by signing up with a text ad program, such as bannerboxes (search google).

Also, you may want to sign up for one or more affiliate programs, that way you can serve ads for one specific company or product. Search google for literally thousands of affiliate programs (search for "affiliate programs" or "associate programs".

Best of luck to you on your website!
