Is there a way to open a pdf in excel or "cut and paste" a table easily? I do not have the orginal document that was used to make the pdf.

In Adobe Acrobat there is a "Text Selector" button or something like that. Click that, then copy the data and paste it into your spreadsheet. If the data doesn't paste into separate cells correctly, I'll often paste the data into a text editor, save it, then use the spreadsheet program to import the delimited data.

If you have a copy of Acrobat (not just the reader) then there is a menu option for exporting text and tables.
