When we were building our site, we were quite illiterate about SEO, and are now correcting lots of mistakes, but there is one thing we did that I am not sure if it is necessary to change. Each of our categories has at least 1-2 pages, and at the bottom of each page, we would always name the link to the next page "Go to Page 2", etc, instead of "blue widgets-page 2". We now think that was a big mistake, since that was tons of links that could have had keywords and didn't. We did change the link names to "blue widgets - page 2", but that only changed the link text, and not the page url. The url's for all of them still say "gotopage2.html" etc. My quesion is: how important is it for us to rebuild the pages so that the url's say "bluewidgetspage2.html"?

I think that urls needing to be keywords is becoming less important these days. Search engines do count them, to some extent, but are more concerned with your unique content, AFAIK.

So short answer: It helps, but is not of huge importance from what I know.

Feel free to correct me folks :)
