Spyware generated pages?

Is spyware being used to help automatically generate pages from Google searches?
I think I have/had some unwanted spyware on my computer. The way I found out is that I ran across some spammy web pages with titles that matched uncommon search phrases that I used at Google. I don't think it was a coincidence. Is this something new or has it been around for a while?

There is a toolbar that does driveby installs that messe with SE results pages. Try using Adaware, then Spyware Search and Destroy, the HighJack This to ensure you are clean. If it is the one I am thinking of it is a pesky little &$%&$# but you should be able to get rid of it.

Don't forget to send an Invoice for Downtime to the company that owns the toolbar. ;)
